Tools reference

Every Sambandh tool: what it does, whether it reads or writes, and whether Claude asks first.

Sambandh gives Claude 14 tools. Read tools only look. Tools that add records never overwrite anything. Tools that change or delete records are marked that way, so Claude asks before each one.

Find contacts find_contacts

Searches your contacts by name, company, email or tag, or finds people you haven’t contacted in a given number of days.

Try: “In Sambandh, who haven’t I talked to in 30 days?”

Get contact details get_contact

Shows one person: details, notes, the 10 latest interactions, open deals and open follow-ups.

Try: “Pull up Maya Kim in Sambandh.”

List follow-ups list_followups

Lists open follow-ups that are overdue, due today, due this week, upcoming, or all of them, optionally for one person.

Try: “What’s overdue in Sambandh?”

List deals list_deals

Lists deals, optionally by stage, with totals per stage and per currency. Amounts in different currencies are never added together.

Try: “Show my Sambandh pipeline by stage.”

Daily briefing daily_briefing

Today’s overdue and due follow-ups, deals expected to close in the next 14 days, open deals with no next follow-up, and people with open deals you haven’t touched lately.

Try: “What’s my day in Sambandh?”

Create contact create_contact

Adds a person. Never overwrites: if the email already exists you get that contact back, and a matching name returns possible duplicates instead of a second copy.

Try: “Add Maya Kim from Bluebird Labs to Sambandh, maya@example.com.”

Log interaction log_interaction

Logs a call, email, meeting, message or note, updates when you last contacted the person, and can add a follow-up in the same step. It can also create the person if they’re new.

Try: “Log in Sambandh that I called Maya; she wants a demo next Tuesday.”

Add follow-up add_followup

Adds a task with a due date, optionally linked to a person and a deal.

Try: “Remind me in Sambandh to send Maya the proposal on Friday.”

Create deal create_deal

Adds a deal with a value, currency (USD unless you say otherwise), stage and expected close date, optionally linked to a person.

Try: “Add a deal to Sambandh: Bluebird Labs website, $4,000, proposal stage.”

Complete follow-up complete_followup

Marks a follow-up as done. An optional note is logged as an interaction with that person.

Try: “Mark the Maya demo follow-up done in Sambandh; it went well.”

Update contact update_contact

Changes a person’s details, tags or notes. Only the fields you mention change, and the previous values are kept in the activity log.

Try: “In Sambandh, Maya’s new title is Head of Growth.”

Update deal update_deal

Changes a deal’s stage, value, currency, expected close date or title. A stage change is also logged as a note on the person.

Try: “Move the Bluebird deal to won in Sambandh.”

Reschedule follow-up update_followup

Moves an open follow-up to another date or rewords it.

Try: “In Sambandh, move the proposal follow-up to next Monday.”

Delete record delete_record

Deletes one contact, deal or follow-up. A deleted contact’s interactions and follow-ups are hidden with it. Restorable from the dashboard for 30 days.

Try: “Delete the duplicate Maya Kim contact in Sambandh.”

Things every tool does

  • Dates are calendar dates (YYYY-MM-DD) in your timezone. Every result starts with today’s date, so Claude works out “next Tuesday” correctly.
  • A person can be named by id (c_…), email or full name. If a name matches more than one person, a write saves nothing and Claude asks which one.
  • The same write sent twice within 10 minutes is saved once.
  • Lists return 20 items by default (up to 50) and say how many more there are.
  • Sambandh doesn’t store payment card or ID numbers. A note containing one is refused.
  • Every change appears in the dashboard’s activity feed, where you can undo it.

Why some tools ask and others don’t: Approvals and Always allow.
